The Position
The Final Statement of Receipts and Disbursements Specialist concentrates on closing the bankruptcy estate; preparing distributions to the Creditors, Trustee, and the Client. The FSRD Specialist also provides reports to the Creditors, the Bankrupt Client and the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada (OSB) about the receipts and disbursements of the estate and upcoming Trustee discharge.
This is a full-time permanent position.
Key Accountabilities
- Prepare and submit regular distributions to creditors, ensuring all fee calculations are correct and in compliance with the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (BIA)
- File appropriate documentation to the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy (OSB) and obtain necessary approvals.
- Prepare and distribute necessary communications to the OSB, clients and creditors.
- Analyze estates and produce accurate manual billings where required.
- Ensure that the department’s work product is always in compliance with the BIA.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with creditors, the OSB and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders, including creditors, internal departments, and Licensed Insolvency Trustees (LIT’s) to ensure efficient and timely distribution of funds occurs.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to perform regular cheque runs.
- Promote organizational values and foster a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Possess the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, exercising judgement when necessary. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills required.

**Education, Knowledge & Skills**:

- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a related field
- Two or more years of relevant work experience in General Finance (accounting, financial analytics)
- Two or more years of working knowledge of the BIA considered an asset
- Completion or working towards completing the Insolvency Administrator Course considered an asset
