**Position Overview**:
**About You**:

This position reports to our operations leaders; and to other senior staff as directed for specific projects.

**About the Role**:
To support our efforts in business development, the Proposal Writer will create, write and design the firm's marketing material and proposals that effectively communicate who we are and the advantages our service offers to prospective clients and projects.

**Areas of Accountability**:
**Proposal Development 70%**
- Book, provide preparatory information and attend internal bid/no bid and kick off meetings.
- Understand and share proposal requirements thoroughly.
- Prepare technical writing for all marketing material such as project sheets, firm profiles, staff bios and awards submissions, including the coordination and preparation of fee proposal submissions for a response to RFPs / RFQs.
- Document all assumptions.
- Review and ensure the final proposal meets leadership's expectations and a high standard of quality.
- Assist in maintaining proposal tools - templates, graphics, experience tables etc.
- Support Statement of Work (SOW) development.

**General Marketing Support 30%**
- Provide support to senior management and contribute to evolving our marketing and business development strategy, including responsibility to monitor and identify project opportunities that align with the firm's business development objectives.
- Provide leadership in editing content for marketing and business development. This may also include support to our project teams for content creation and editing of design reports as required
- Lead and manage general marketing activities and resources, including company website and social media channels
- Source, analyze and track potential opportunities in KMBR's marketplaces
- Lead the creation and production proposal and award submissions
- Working with the Principals, lead the creation and production of material for presentations and proposal interviews
- Organize photoshoots
- Coordinate the process for marketing information management including update of databases for projects, clients & collaborators, and contribution to style guides and templates.
- Generate and track proposal success and deliver reports as needed.
- May be asked to attend conferences to provide booth and meeting support.
- Manage Company's social media channels including Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin.

**Requirements**:

- At least 3 years of experience as a Proposal Writer with an architectural, engineering, or construction firm.
- A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or a related field
- A demonstrated understanding of KMBR's market sectors and client relations
- Extensive experience in proposal preparation and management: highly skilled in content structure and graphic layout.
- Excellent writing, editing, and researching skills.
- A high degree of attention to detail (accuracy, proofreading, spelling, grammar, consistency).
- Excellent organizational skills and experience handling multiple priorities and competing deadlines simultaneously.
- The ability to work independently with mínimal supervision as well as within team environments.
- The ability to work with ease in a dynamic, fast-paced workplace and be comfortable coordinating and motivating multiple contributors, many of whom are senior management.
- Working knowledge of HTML, WordPress, and SEO; social media literate specifically in B2B channels.
- Desire to network, source new work opportunities, and develop new client relationships is an asset.
