**Job Synopsis**
MCC Saskatchewan Thrift Shops strive to be a welcoming and caring place within a community. Generating revenue while practicing and promoting faithful stewardship and care for God’s creation is the mission statement of the MCC Thrift Shops. Village Green MCC Thrift is located in Saskatoon at 60 33rd Street West. The Production Coordinator is an employee of MCC Saskatchewan and reports to the Village Green General Manager. Under the direction of the General Manager, the Production Coordinator is responsible for processing operations of the Village Green MCC Thrift shop.
The Production Coordinator is the driving force behind maintaining and modeling a high level of customer service through training and mentoring volunteers and staff. Ensuring the flow of inventory from the workroom to the retail floor, the Coordinator will work with the Volunteer Coordinator to train, schedule and supervise production volunteers, consulting with the General Manager and other staff to plan special events and seasonal displays.
The Production Coordinator is a member of the Village Green Management team, assisting and supporting the Village Green General Manager in operating and managing the shop. The Management Team consists of the General Manager, the Donations and Furniture Manager, the Production Coordinator, the Retail Coordinator, and the Volunteer and Marketing Coordinator.

**Development and leadership**:
- Proven ability to provide leadership in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with people of all ages and backgrounds, with sensitivity and awareness of cultural, racial, economic, and socially diverse communities
- Ability to create an atmosphere of a positive Christian presence within the shop
- Ability to engage and influence others to achieve organizational goals
- Experience training, mentoring, supervising, and managing staff and volunteers
- Ability to diplomatically communicate policies and boundaries
**Field Expertise**:
- Proven experience forecasting and planning in a retail environment
- Experience with Point of Sales systems and processing cash and credit transactions
- Experience with reconciling daily sales and maintaining accurate records
- Knowledge of the second-hand market with an awareness of regulations regarding selling donated goods, an asset
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and waste reduction
- Good oral and written communication skills required, using today’s technologies

- Healthy balance of patience, humour and energy
- Respect for and discretion in dealing with confidential material required
- Basic working knowledge of MS Office programs including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
- Willing to work within and promote MCC Thrift Operating Principles
- Required to work non-standard hours, including evenings and Saturdays
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and exert 11 to 25 lbs. of force frequently
- May require 6 or more hours of intermittent standing or walking in a standard workday
- Ability to repeatedly bend or stoop to floor level shelves and able to reach upper shelves with use of a stool or a ladder when necessary
- Valid Canadian Driver's license.
- Satisfactory Canadian criminal record check (upon hire)
**Key Responsibilities**
**General**
- Communicate the MCC mission and values and mission of the Thrift Shop in a positive manner to staff, volunteers, donors, and the community at large.
- Participate in staff meetings, retreats, and lead devotions as required
- Attend MCCS functions as required and represent MCCS values and missions to donors, customers, and the public.
- Act with integrity, reflecting Christian respect for those we serve, including volunteers, customers, and donors.
- Model reconciliation and healing in our daily actions with public, volunteers, core members and staff.
- Create a customer centric culture - create a positive experience in all interaction points with customers, donors, volunteers, and colleagues; serve as a brand advocate and ambassador for the MCC mission and values in every interaction with customers and donors
- Share the news about your shop and the network in the community
- Support the staff team as needed to meet the demands of daily operations
- Assist with special events and projects as needed
**Production**
- Oversee all processing of donations from receiving to the retail floor
- Develop strategies to grow production numbers.
- Responsible for reaching production targets
- Set daily and weekly production goals for each department
- Work with the Management Team in the operation of the shop to ensure teamwork and a desirable working and shopping environment
- Assess workroom layout and efficiency and change as needed
