The Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS) is a union representing more than 4,000 Health Care Professionals, who work within the Saskatchewan Health Authority, several privately owned ambulance services in Saskatchewan, and at Canadian Blood Services in Regina. We were founded in 1972, by a group of dedicated professionals who believed that the unique interests of the varied and specialized professions would be best represented by a separate, independent union.

**Manager of Labour Relations**

Reporting to and acting under the direction of the Executive Director, the Manager of Labour Relations is accountable for the management and administration of labour relation services and for the strategic leadership and direction to a results-driven department. This position will provide expertise, advice, education and guidance to ensure consistency in the delivery of labour relations activities by planning, organizing, directing and implementing the labour relations function which may include collective bargaining, dispute resolution, contract implementation and administration, research, education and communications.

The Manager of Labour Relations will supervise the Labour Relations Officers and in consultation with the Executive Director and Executive Council, assume or delegate the role of Lead Negotiator for all collective agreements overseen by HSAS, and HSAS staff contracts.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Business, Law, Human Resources, Political Science, Industrial/Labour Relations or a related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years management experience in a labour relations setting.
- Previous experience:

- in Labour Relations/Employee Relations or Union experience
- working with Board oversight
- working with the public service sector, public affairs, and/or government affairs
- Solid understanding of labour law principles and functions including human rights, Saskatchewan employment act, diversity, employment equity.
- Extensive experience and knowledge/understanding of the collective bargaining process, analysis of collective agreement language and mediation, arbitration, and grievance processes and techniques.

Please note this position can be located in either Regina or Saskatoon.
