**What does the Health Information Management team do?**

Health Information Management (HIM) is a leader in the collection, storage, and distribution of patient information within British Columbia. Our dedicated team of professionals are some of the first points of contact at Health Organizations sites. As a consolidated Lower Mainland department of Providence Health Care, HIM has staff at about 40 geographically dispersed locations across Fraser Health, Providence Health Care, Provincial Health Services Authority and Vancouver Coastal Health.

Approximately 1,450 staff working the following Service Areas: Registration, Records Management, Transcription Services, Health Information Exchange, and Coding. Additional Corporate Services include: Strategic Planning, Projects & Business Optimization, Culture & Communications. There is room for growth and development and we aim to support our teams to flourish.

**What you will do**:
The Coordinator of Records Management & Registration will report to the Regional Manager, and will oversee the HIM processes and support the team at the qathet Hospital site. This includes record and document processing, registration, reception, record completion and release of information.

The successful applicant will be supported by the Regional Manager but work autonomously to:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations
- Review and determine resource planning.
- Enhance service delivery.
- Lead quality improvement activities.
- Monitor operating budget and provides input into operating and capital budget for the assigned site.

**About you**:
The successful applicant must have:

- Graduated from a recognized Health Information Management program and three (3) years recent, related experience including one (1) years in a supervisory capacity, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Canadian College of Health Information Management (CHIM) Certified
- Possess the ability to build teams, trust and a culture, has a balanced approach in their management style.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, supervise and train others.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to organize work and prioritize workload.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a team member, motivator and facilitator.
- Demonstrated ability to adjust to new and unexpected events and to deal with and/or guide others in the resolution of conflict issues.
- Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.

- The salary range for this role is in accordance to the Health Science Professional’s Provincial Agreement, grade 9 ($33.13 - $41.43).

**Salary**: $33.13-$41.43 per hour

Schedule:
