**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Site Preparation and Maintenance**:
- Assist in setting up job sites, including placing barricades, signage, and safety equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
- Help with trench excavation by removing dirt and debris, leveling the trench bottom, and preparing the site for pipe installation.
- **Support for Pipe Layers and Operators**:
- Provide manual labor support during pipe installation, including handling and positioning pipes, fittings, and other materials.
- Assist with connecting pipes, making sure joints are properly aligned and secured.
- Work closely with heavy equipment operators, guiding and signaling them during excavation and pipe installation.
- **Material Handling**:
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment from trucks or storage areas to the work site.
- Ensure the correct materials are available for pipe layers and other crew members as needed.
- Assist in mixing and pouring concrete, as well as spreading gravel or other base materials for pipe bedding.
- **Safety Compliance**:
- Follow all safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Participate in safety briefings and report any unsafe conditions to the site supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures related to health, safety, and environmental practices.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in construction or manual labor is preferred but not required.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions from experienced crew members.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
**Work Environment**:
- Primarily outdoor work, often in challenging weather conditions.
- Requires physical strength and stamina, including the ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
- May involve working in confined spaces and trenches.
Pay: From $28.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
