Operate the roller and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
- Maintain and ensure vehicle and equipment are stocked with needed materials.
- Safely operate roller in successive overlapping passes over surfaces to be compacted, ensuring appropriate speed based on knowledge of compressibility of material under changing temperatures, rolling asphalt to desired compaction and smoothness.
- Push hand roller and pound surfaces using a hand tamper, or guide portable plate compactors over areas not accessible to a road roller.
- Operate the Breakdown roller to achieve proper compaction.
- Ensure the job site is clean and free of excess material.
- Promote a team approach and maintain a dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
- Have a Class D Driver’s License
- Minimum two years experience within the construction industry, 1 yr on an asphalt roller
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis

**Salary**: From $30.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Ottawa, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Work Location: In person
