The role: _Payroll Administrator_

**Who are you?**

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for processing Canadian and US employee payroll in a detailed and efficient manner. In this role, you will have the opportunity to take the lead on providing payroll administration in the new regions and areas of our growing business. In addition, the payroll administrator will utilize excel frequently in creating reports and reviewing data, all with the goal of contributing to the efficiency and further development of a growing department.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees working in Canada and the US, in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prepare, verify, and process Records of Employment.
- Prepare payroll related tax remittances and filings for Federal, Provincial and US State agencies.
- Create resource profiles for all employees in ERP software D365BC.
- Create monthly timesheets for all employees in ERP software D365BC.
- Verify and reconcile all employee submitted timesheets for accuracy and completeness.
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Ready, verify, and process monthly payroll and timesheet journal entries.
- Process annual production year-end filing and of Tax forms (T4, W-4).
- Prepare and process:

- Quarterly Workers Compensation reports and payments.
- Quarterly Employers Health Tax remittances.
- Monthly RRSP and 401K enrolments, remittances, and employee queries.
- Maintain payroll records for internal and external requirements.
- Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting payroll functions and ensure policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
- Overall responsibility for timely remittance and reporting of statutory contributions in compliance with regulations and statutory requirements.
- Analyze, compile and report payroll and timesheet data for various purposes, including government funding claims.

**Key Qualifications**:

- 3 - 5+ years experience administering full-cycle payroll for hourly and salaried employees in Canada. Exposure to administering full-cycle payroll in the US is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with providing guidance on payroll administration in new regions and jurisdictions (i.e., Various US States).
- Comprehensive understanding of best practices and relevant legislation.
- Experience using MS Excel in an advanced capacity (formulas, filter, vlookup, pivot table) to provide detailed reporting & analytics.
- Accountability, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask.
- Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Highly organized and detail-orientated with the ability to problem solve.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP), or working towards, considered an asset.
