Shop Foreman

We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable shop foreman to join our team at BEX Engineering. The shop foreman will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of 6-8 employees and ensuring the successful running of CNC machines and injection molding equipment during an evening shift. Your role will involve setting up and operating/monitoring equipment as needed by production, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. This individual will report to the plant manager.

**Requirements**:

- Experience in a management position is required. Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment, with in-depth knowledge of CNC machine principles, programming, set-up and troubleshooting. Injection Molding knowledge is an asset.
- Technical/vocational training in machining or manufacturing is preferred.
- High attention to detail and ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers and height gauges.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Willing to commit to evening-shift hours long-term (4:00PM-12:00AM Mon-Fri).

**Responsibilities**:

- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and supervise a team of 6-8 employees, including CNC machine operators and injection molding technicians.
- Foster a positive working environment, promote teamwork, provide coaching and maximize continuous improvement.
- Set-up and prepare CNC machines and some injection molding equipment for production runs, ensuring proper tooling, materials and parameters. Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine sequence of machining operations and confirm measurements on parts.
- Monitor machine performance, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary adjustments to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Liaise with plant manager and production manager at the start of each shift to understand priorities and ensure a smooth workflow and timely execution of production schedules.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as maintenance and engineering, to address any equipment or product related concerns.
- Promote and enforce a safe working environment, ensuring that all staff are adhering to company safety policies and provincial safety requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections and complete first off approval of finished parts.
- Assist in completing interviews for new hires and making decisions on recruitment.
- Operate machines and equipment to fulfill the needs of production.

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
