Curve Lake, Canada Curve Lake First Nation Full time

The purposes of this position are**:
To support the Economic Development, Tourism and Culture department in establishing and maintaining relationships with Industry and community, to ensure partnership commitments are met and are making meaningful impact on the First Nation community, through education, special events coordination, and ultimately creating partnerships with the First Nation and Indigenous community.

**Duties**:
The duties and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

- Responding to inquiries from corporations and other organizations
- Scheduling and running engagement, scoping and other facilitated meetings with partners
- Collaborating with Curve Lake departments, community members and committees which assist in determining the services that best suit the Community Members.
- Liaising with the consultation and other department teams to ensure that partners are connecting and integrating properly into the community and First Nation organizations
- Supporting our partners and collaborating with the Managers and Directors on creative new initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with the community through educational and special events.
- Coordinate or assist with events such as Pow Wow, Indigenous Day, TRC day, workshops etc.
- Reporting
- Grant/proposal writing

**QUALIFICATIONS**:Basic Requirements**:(APPLICANTS MUST SHOW NECESSARY PROOF WITH APPLICATION OR WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY SCREENED OUT)**

**Education & Experience**:

- Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in a related field (i.e. Administration, First Nation engagement, Industry or Corporate experience, project management);
- 1-2 years of experience in corporate/Industry environment

- Knowledge and awareness of the market economy, sensitivity to labour market issues
- Good knowledge of education, training and community support services
- Sensitivity and awareness to social factors that affect First Nation people
- Exhibits a high degree of initiative and self-direction; excellent analytical, planning, organizational, and communication skills
- Background in research; ability to conceptualize, high level computer skills
- Ability to work with tact and discretion; good public relation skills; good project management skills
- Excellent writing and communication skills

- Skills in computer use
- Workshop/Special event coordination
