Reporting to the Supply Chain Team Lead, Buyer is accountable for providing effective operational procurement work to deliver supply chain solutions to the business, including bid-winning and project delivery teams. The incumbent improves performance and reduces cost and business risk, delivers a better value supply chain by embedding category strategies into the projects, and focuses on the needs of internal and external customers. This role supports supply chain management by handling the supply of goods and services across business units. This is a dynamic role, based in our Edmonton Office, with occasional hybrid work days.
**Essential Functions**
**Execution**
- Support the Supply Chain Team Lead to deliver objectives and initiatives.
- Handle supply chain management activity within business units.
- Support the supply chain solution for bid-winning in business units.
- Participate in strategic projects as necessary.
- Ensure that the supply chain is safe, sustainable, and appropriately accredited.
- Achieve targets set by the Supply Chain Manager.
- Support operational procurement needs at the site level.
- Monitor supply chain delivery against procurement schedule.
**Planning and Process**
- Comply with all Corporate Supply Chain processes and procedures.
- Gather data and provide accurate and concise summaries as required.
- Prepare and present reports as required and achieve targets set by team.
- Install corrective action plans as required.
**Financial Accountabilities**
- Conduct regular reporting, as requested & attend accrual meetings as required.
- Identify ways to reduce cost and improve service.
- Carry out quotation analysis and evaluation of tenders.
- Place best value orders.
**Client Focus**
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and implement the most appropriate supply chain and category solutions.
- Prepare and issue enquiries for materials.
- Conduct low value risk negotiations with suppliers.
- Resolve problems between suppliers and Graham and expedite quotes and deliveries.

**Education, Experience and Knowledge**
- Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or another technical field.

- Previous experience as a Buyer for 2-3 years
- Ability to listen to client concerns and provide requisite solutions.
- Proficiency in procurement processes.
- Strong relationship management skills.
- Relevant product and subcontract market knowledge.
- Knowledge of tender and contract procurement practices and processes.
- Strong analytical skills and high competency with supplier selection and evaluation.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to operate under pressure and meet tight and demanding deadlines.
- Proficiency using a computer and Microsoft Office.
