**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
Benchmark International is an Edmonton-based manufacturer. We have a proud 25-year history as both a manufacturer’s representative and a manufacturer. Currently, we manufacture a variety of products including gas separation equipment and environmental monitoring equipment. Our products are used by customers around the world. We have ambitious production targets to satisfy significant customer demand. It is critical to us that we deliver on our commitments to our customers and that products ship on time and in full. The Buyer plays an important role in ensuring the timely procurement of goods and materials required for our manufacturing processes.
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement process ensuring accurate ordering and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers. As a key member of the procurement team, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a reliable supply chain and support the manufacturing operations. If you enjoy the challenge of working with suppliers to ensure goods are received on time and in full, you will find this a rewarding role.
**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and specifications
- Maintaining accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier information
- Expedite delivery of ordered material/services in accordance with the supplier promised delivery date or with changes in company requirements
- Follow up on open orders and appropriately liaise between end users and suppliers to negotiate and satisfactorily resolve any changes initiated by either party
- Continuously seeking opportunities to improve procurement processes, reduce costs, and enhance supply chain efficiency.
- Staying up-to-date with market trends, industry best practices, and new procurement technologies
- Resolving any issues or disputes with suppliers promptly and professionally
- Communicate and interact effectively with people from multi-functional and diverse backgrounds

**QUALIFICATIONS**
We are looking for a genuine and passionate person. An individual that is positive and enthusiastic and enjoys balancing multiple competing priorities with the goal of internal and external customer satisfaction. It would be great if you had the following experience and qualifications:
- Previous experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and procurement best practices
**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour
