Sheldrake Utility Construction is young and fast-growing Utility contractor that specializes in BC Hydro civil construction. Sheldrake Utility Construction is based out of the lower mainland with the main office in Abbotsford. Our current crews are made up of reliable, experienced personnel and we have the proper supporting equipment, capable of handling all aspects of BC Hydro civil construction.

We are currently seeking an entry level or experienced workers for the civil trade. Our current work load is located in the Langley/ Surrey area. However we do work in all areas.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Clean and prepare construction sites as needed by removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials and digging trenches.
- Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt and dirt.
- Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use.
- Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.

**Requirements and Qualifications**:

- High school degree or equivalent educational experience
- Experience working in the construction industry is considered an asset
- Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40 pounds
- Positive attitude and work ethic
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills

Starting wage is between $26-36/hr based on experience. Reliable transportation is a must, not all of our sites are on bus routes.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $26.00-$33.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
