SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE
To contribute to the smooth running of the department by preparation of routine items and assigned tasks to company standards. Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.
MAIN DUTIES
- Prepare food of consistent quality and production and portion standards, per check from servers.
- Assist in setting up plans and actions to correct any food cost problems, control food waste, loss and usage per company standards.
- Carry out preparation of food items as per routine task list or as delegated achieving standards laid down by property policy and quantities as applicable to business levels.
- Assist as requested with the receiving/putting away of food items.
- Carry out opening and closing duties applicable to the position.
- Assist with kitchen steward/wash up duties as delegated to maintain the smooth and efficient running of the kitchen.
