**Position: Support Worker**

**Full-time (48 hours/ week), Permanent**

**Schedule**:Tuesday to Thursday 7pm - 11am (overnight 16-hour shifts)

**Rate**: $15.11/hr for regular hours 7pm -11pm; 7am -11am

$13.50/hr for asleep overnight hours: 11pm - 7am

If a minimum wage increase occurs it will be applied to asleep overnight hours.

**Work Location**:Work in the person's home in Selkirk, MB as she is the employer.

**About the position**:We are looking for a vibrant, compassionate, and reliable Support Worker who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others. **About the client**:She is a friendly and kind 79-year-old woman with an intellectual disability who lives in her own personal two bedroom apartment in Selkirk, Manitoba. She also has a physical impairment and utilizes a walker.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Housekeeping activities
- Food preparation which follow the guidelines provided by the hospital
- Help client eat her morning meal and get dressed prior to her dialysis appointment on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Ability to resolve conflict situations
- Ability to assist client in a rare situation where there is a fall (110lbs)

**Qualifications we are looking for are**:

- Minimum Secondary (high) school graduation diploma
- Current or new graduates are welcomed in health, human, social services, or other related fields
- O to 1 year experience; will train the right person
- Preference given to female applicants
- Ability to work under pressure
- Efficient interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Takes initiative and has sound judgement
- Criminal record check and Adult Abuse Registry check to be provided prior to start of position
- First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
