About Us:

Mara Home and Health Services Inc. is dedicated to providing exceptional, personalized home care services to clients in their own homes. We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team. This job would involve driving to a client in Selkirk, Manitoba - About 25-30 minutes outside Winnipeg.

Position Details:

  • Shifts Available:
  • Afternoons: 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
  • Days: Mondays and Fridays preferred. Open to schedule flexibility

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living activities, including laundry, personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support.
  • Support meal preparation and light housekeeping tasks.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent training.
  • A caring, patient, and respectful attitude toward clients.
  • Ability to follow care plans and work independently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certification is an asset.

· Must be able speak and write in English. Other languages will be an asset.

· Ability to identify and report client care concerns to Care Designers when needed.

· Able to travel from within locations n a timely fashion.

· Passionate about making a difference.

· Described as a self-led leader with the ability to take responsibility for own behavior and success.

· Previous care giving experience an asset.

· Able to work independently.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, repetitive tasks, walking

Personal Suitability: punctuality, organization, effective interpersonal skills, dependability, flexibility, initiative, excellent oral communication, decision making, reliability, team player, client focused etc.

Job details: shifts will be assigned on a regular basis based on demand, prescheduled or last minute.

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 7 per week
