**Function Summary**
Reporting to the Director, Nursing Professional Practice, in collaboration with the clinical manager, this role will work within a bio-psychosocial framework and collaborate with interprofessional clinical care teams at Bruyère in the assessment, development, implementation, and evaluation of functional and behavioural treatment plans and interventions to reduce challenging patient behaviors related to brain injuries, dementia, and mental health.
This role is responsible for:
- Collecting and analyzing behavioural data and participating in interventions to modify identified behaviours using evidence informed, data-informed, best practice approaches.
- Collaborating with interprofessional teams to aid in coordinating patient activities and clinical services within the facility.
- Liaising with community agencies during treatment and in preparation for discharge.
- Supervising the work of those conducting behavior analytic services.

**Required Qualifications**
- Master’s degree or higher from an ABAI-accredited or ABAI-recognized behavior analysis degree program or graduate degree with behaviour-analytic coursework or behavior analysis degree program with faculty teaching and research or Doctoral degree with Postdoctoral experience in applied behavior analysis.
- Certification with the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board at BCBA level
- Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience
- Experience in behavioural-analytic services for adult clients with behavioural issues related to mental health, acquired brain injury, or dementia in Rehabilitation, Long Term Care, Hospital, or Community settings
- Experience developing and completing functional behavioural assessments and functional analyses
- Experience in developing and implementing data collections systems
- Direct clinical experience implementing Applied Behavioural Analysis (ABA)
- Certification in Gentle Persuasive Approach and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention or willingness to successfully complete training
- Advanced computer skills and medical terminology
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Ability to train others in ABA principles
- Experience in facilitation of group/individual training/education
- Member of the Ontario Association for Behaviour Analysis and/or the Association for Behaviour Analysis International
- Certification in DementiAbility Methods: The Montessori Way
- Fluent in French and English
**Key Competencies**
- Specialized skills in functional and behaviour analysis and development of interventions related to behavioural issues associated with mental health, dementia, and acquired brain injury
- Ability to work in a collaborative, interprofessional team model, yet show independent practice initiative in organizing and prioritizing work effectively and with mínimal supervision
- Well-developed listening, and observational skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills including sensitivity, compassion, patience, and perseverance
- Good judgment in seeking assistance or in dealing with unusual situations
- Ability to maintain professional stance when faced with aggression or conflict situations
- Experience/familiarity with maintaining on-going clinical records / care planning functions, as well as workload measurements tools
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and manage activities concurrently
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Flexibility in working hours to meet the needs of patients, families, physicians, and staff
