**Summary**

**Responsibilities**
- Work directly with the Food & Beverage Manager & the Catering Coordinator in the planning and execution of events, at a variety of venues throughout the city of Calgary
- Stand by the vision of the company, while executing any event
- Liaise with the Décor Manager, the F & B Manager, & the Catering Coordinator & Chef and directors at all times
- Devise actionable plans to keep multiple events organized and on track
- Manage all catering operations from planning to execution.
- Coordinate with clients to understand their needs and preferences for events.
- Oversee food presentation to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Supervise catering staff of maximum 15 during events to ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and manage ordering processes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in food handling and service.
- Organize the logistics required for an event (rentals, dishware, glassware vehicles, delivery schedule etc.)
- Manage and work with teams on the placement of tables, chairs, décor and all catering equipment as per the theme and standards that are pre-defined
- Overseeing event set up, service and breakdown
- Pack and deliver to varies venues around the city (must have an unrestricted valid driver’s license)
- Ensure that the documentation of the schedule and timelines are in place
- Adhere to local laws and regulations while executing
- Strong knowledge of food service operations, including food safety practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build strong client relationships.
- Effective communication and leadership abilities to manage a team of 5-15 successfully.

**Required skills and qualifications**
- Proven experience in catering management or a similar role within the hospitality industry
- In-depth understanding of the hospitality industry and its common practices
- Impeccable decision-making skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours. Including weekends and holidays
- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills
- Strong Communication skills
- Prior experience working as a banquet captain, assistant banquet manager or catering/events manager is an asset
- Certificate or diploma in catering, hospitality or a similar discipline is an asset
- Experience in menu development and event planning is an asset.
- Knowledge of common catering management software is an asset

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
