**Position Purpose**

To continuously improve the end-to-end processes involved in building trailers. To help forecast the part requirements for all units in production at BWS and Stargate.

**Accountabilities**
- Prepare the sales estimate for future units for both BWS and Stargate.
- Creating the sales order bill of material that contains the parts and labor required for the unit. This is done by combining the base bills with the correct options.
- Create the work order using the sales order estimate.
- Managing the risks by informing the appropriate departments when new designs or new combinations of options do not allow for a full estimate to be made.
- Attend the sales order meeting and use the information gained from the group to improve the sales order estimates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date bill of materials for option and top-level bills of material.
- Use feedback from the variance and snag reports to improve the options.
- Create and maintain option number as required.
- Educate all departments about the functions of the option part numbers.
- Maintain a cross reference data base on all options and what model they are compatible with.
- Accurately capture the costs of trailers and options. This is used to control the selling price of units and options. The goal is to be with 2% of predicted margin on units.
- Work order updates:

- Immediately assess the risks and effects of the change.
- Quickly and accurately changing work orders and bills based on customer and internal change requests.
- Communicate the risks to the other people in the process.
- Taking initiative on process improvements by identifying opportunities to implement and review existing processes. This will be accomplished by bringing forward analysis and ideas for discussion.
- Develop new process that reduce risks and improve function of the companies.
- Lead improvements in the current process
- Staff education:

- Organize the SYSPRO training program.
- Encourage people to make use of the essential tools for making their tasks simpler.
- Act as a backup for other roles in the Bill of Material department.
- Scheduling
- Issuing
- Interpret snags made to suggest methods to improve it.
- Identify the pattern of defects and report them to the respective departments.
- Write and maintain task descriptions and or instructions for all tasks.

**Skills helpful to the Position**
- Knowledge of ERP and manufacturing practices.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and retrieve the required information.
- Communication skills - advanced.
- Computer aptitude - technical ability with systems, accuracy, analytical (MS Access, Excel).
- Time management skills.
- Driven to meet and exceed deadlines.
- Focused team player - looks for ways to improve.
- Results oriented - keen interest in documenting processes and making suggestions to improve.**We do not require agency assistance.**
