Canadian Memorial Services, part of the Mount Pleasant Group, serves the Greater Toronto Area with three stand-alone Simple Alternative Funeral Centres and six Funeral Centres that are located on cemeteries owned by the Mount Pleasant Group of Cemeteries. Our success is the result of a dedicated team of professional employees who are committed to providing compassionate, caring service to each and every client, with a special focus on providing culturally sensitive service.

We are currently looking for a certified Celebrant to join our team based out of the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre
- Travel and work at any Funeral Centre as required (will be based at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre)
- Meet with clients at a Funeral Centre, client workplace or at their home as required
- Interview clients to design, plan, and deliver a personalized and meaningful ceremony or celebration that reflects the life of the deceased and meets the client’s needs
- Use music, literature, and other elements to create a personalized experience for each family served
- Provide a written copy of the tribute to the client
- Handle situations where differences or conflict between clients and/or participants affects the planning and/or delivery of the ceremony or celebration
- Lead and officiate ceremonies either indoors or at outdoor spaces
- Maintain a high standard of professional conduct and practice
- Provide leadership in the ceremony and perform the role of celebrant with professionalism, clarity, empathy and flexibility to ensure that all participants are actively engaged with the ceremony/celebration
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to providing meaningful experiences and exceeding customer service expectations
- May require work outside of normal business hours, especially when meeting potential clients
- Perform other sundry tasks as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Completion of a Celebrant certification program through a reputable provider
- A valid Ontario “G” driver’s licence with a clean driver’s abstract
- Good communication skills
- Works well in a team environment
- Sensitive to client needs, Can develop warm client relationships
- Manage distressing and stressful situations with sensitivity and care
- Provide funeral services to various faiths and cultures
- Excellent organizational and time managerment skills
- Willingness to be flexible
- High attention to detail and ability to multi-task
- Basic proficiency of Windows and MS Office
