**Employment & Work Experience Coordinator - Surrey, BC**

Discovery Community College currently has an opening for a dynamic individual to join our Lower Mainland team as an **Employment & Work Experience Coordinator.**

This position will work closely with faculty members, students and employers and will be responsible for the preparation and placement of students.

This will be a full-time (40 hours per week) in-person position at our Surrey campus - exact schedule TBC but some evenings and weekends will be required, with a salary range of $55,000 to $57,500 per annum (depending on experience).

**Main Responsibilities / Expectations**:

- Secure and coordinate placements for students in a variety of industries
- Experience in Employment Counselling an asset
- Conduct visits with employers and potential new employers
- Existing connections with community organizations an asset
- Assist students in developing career related skills
- Provide students with labour market information on skill requirements and job opportunities
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office (especially Word, Excel, Outlook) and be able to work with customized database software
- Be able to pay attention to details, establish priorities and manage multiple simultaneous projects
- Maintain composure and effectiveness when working under deadlines and frequent change to priorities
- Be able to work independently within strict timelines
- Be detail oriented and very thorough in the collection and recording of information.
- Highly organized
- Communicate regularly with team and adhere to schedules
- Be proficient on a multi-line switchboard, with a professional and friendly telephone manner

This position would require the successful applicant to have their own transportation.
