Dental Receptionist

The employee will be responsible for greeting patients and assisting them with their inquiries. Additionally, the receptionist must maintain accurate records of patient information, process payments and provide administrative support to the DOC+ team. The employee will have exceptional organizational skills as well as a warm and personable demeanour, high standards of integrity, compassion and understanding.
**PATIENT TASKS**:
- _Verify Patient Identity with Photo ID_
- _Offer assistance to patients entering the building_
- _Process payments_
- _Generate receipts for payments received as well as provide itemized invoices for treatment_
- _Greet and welcome patients arriving at the dental office_
- _Create new patient profiles in Dentrix and enter all relevant information into the system_
- _Contact patients immediately if dormant or emergency cases arise_
- _Implement strategies to encourage engagement in treatment among reluctant patients_
- _Utilize Dentrix for financial management including billing, collections, payment processing and reporting_
- _Gather supporting documentation from authoritative third party_
- _Monitor inactive patients and take appropriate action if necessary_
- _Enter patient information into Dentrix system including medical and dental history, insurance plans, etc._
- _Provide written and verbal instructions to patients on next steps in the process_
- _Answer telephone calls promptly and transfer calls to appropriate personnel when needed_
- _Provide timely reminders to patients regarding their upcoming appointment_
- _Make follow up calls to patients who have not kept scheduled appointments_
- _Reach out to inactive or reluctant patients and encourage them to return for necessary treatment_
- _Schedule follow up visits for existing patients and offer incentives as needed_
- _Monitor progress on treatments which require multiple visits_
- _Take special care with emergency and high risk cases by checking in with the patient regularly_
- _Input patient data into the computers with accuracy_
- _Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guideline_
- _Utilizing ReCall Max_
**Office**:
- _Maintain an orderly work desk to ensure that work can be completed efficiently_
- Observe all Infection Prevention & Control (IPAC) standards including hand hygiene routines, cleanliness of the reception area and common areas, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), waste management, etc.
- Refrain from using any unauthorized technology while working, including but not limited to personal mobile phones and tablets
- Keep reception and waiting area neat, tidy, and presentable
- Manage office visitor log using appropriate software or manual system
- Adhere to all office protocols and policies
- Create a welcoming atmosphere for all who enter the office
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
**Education**:
- Secondary School (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Dental receptionist: 1 year (required)
