**Position: Assistant Controller** **Location: Acheson, AB** **Type: Full-Time, Salaried** Kichton Contracting Ltd. is seeking a team-oriented and motivated Assistant Controller. This role will be based in our Acheson office and is crucial to fulfilling our workforce needs. We are committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment. If you're a proactive and positive multitasker with an eye for detail, strong communication skills and are interested in working for a construction leader, we want to hear from you Reporting to the Corporate Controller, you will support the Finance team and collaborate with stakeholders throughout Kichton Contracting. Roles and Responsibilities - Maintain monthly and year-end balance sheet reconciliations for multiple legal entities - Review projects to ensure proper coding and revenue recognition - Complete monthly bank reconciliations - Perform GST and PST returns for AB, SK, and BC - Reconcile intercompany charges - Supervise finance admin staff - Review job contracts to ensure proper billing by AR staff - Review AR and AP to ensure proper cashflow - Assist in developing accounting procedures - Maintain equipment subledgers and manage assets - Provide backup to high-level Finance team members as required - Perform GL payroll remittances - Provide assistance with audits as required - Perform other related duties as assigned by the Corporate Controller Qualifications & Competencies - 5 years’ full-cycle accounting experience is required; experience in the construction industry and/or working within a group of companies would be an asset - Bachelor’s degree in accounting or commerce is required; CPA designation would be a plus - Experience managing and balancing bank requisitions. - Experience with financial audits - Strong supervisory skills - Effective problem-solving skills along with tenacity and ability to take initiative - Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite; motivated by learning new technology - Strong discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information - Ability to communicate effectively; identify stakeholders and ensure understanding - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail **Working Conditions**: **Employee Benefits**: - Office environment Comprehensive health and dental benefit coverage - Overtime as required Group RRSP Matching program **Equity & Inclusion**: We are committed to providing reasonable accommodation to all applicants.
