**Position Summary**:
This role supports timely co-ordination of employee communication across the FNHA and oversees workflow scheduling, major campaigns and launches in partnership with key program areas. The role manages organizational change communication, develops key messages, and anticipates and understands the impacts on staff. This position mentors, advises and manages a team to create, execute and measure internal communications that drive forward business priorities or objectives. In addition, the Manager establishes, maintains, and continuously improves team scheduling, workflows and approval processes to ensure effective project management.
**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. **Responsibilities**:
- Advises the Director, senior leadership and internal clients in the development of internal communications strategies to support the overall strategic direction of the FNHA and specific business units.
- Delivers timely and effective communications throughout the organization through multi-channel and evidenced
- based approaches.
- Develops, writes and edits enterprise-wide staff announcements, briefing notes and presentations, and acts as managing editor of Inner Spirit News - the FNHA’s internal e-newsletter.
- Conducts research and implements quality improvement of the internal communications function
- Partners with various key internal program areas in the development of communication and change management plans for enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Supervises staff and performs tasks such as selection, coaching, development, determining duties and responsibilities, and evaluating employee performance.
- Partners with Human Resources to develop staff messaging, recruitment materials and campaigns
- Meets with Senior Executives to understand issues and communication needs.

**Qualifications**:
Education
- Post-secondary degree in communications, marketing or social sciences.
- 8-10 years of experience in internal or corporate communications or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least two years in a management or supervisory role.
Experience
- Experience working with First Nations organizations and/or communities.
- Knowledge and experience with content management systems, project or production management.
- Working knowledge of Sharepoint is an asset.
- Experience with change management or project management initiatives considered an asset
- Experience supervising and mentoring staff.
- Experience leading communications for a complex healthcare, government or non-profit organization.
- Experience supporting senior level management on issues resolution and strategic communications.
**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:
- Knowledge of the BC healthcare system and issues affecting First Nation communities.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, time manage, set priorities effectively under deadlines and tight turnaround times.
- Proven ability to use judgement, problem solve, including early anticipation of and identification of issues/problems that may arise.
- Ability to synthesize information and feedback into easily understood and audience appropriate briefing notes, reports and presentations.
- Strong project management skills and ability to develop effective relationships with peers, company leaders, and external partners required.
- Ability to exercise sound judgement, and demonstrate tact, diplomacy and discretion in dealing with high profile, sensitive, confidential and urgent matters.
