The Faculty of Arts at the King’s University is seeking a sessional instructor in Art for the following course in
the Winter Terms of the 2024-25 academic year. The course meets as a lab for 6 hours per week.

**COURSE DESCRIPTIONS**

ARTE 211 - Illustration

Mon., Wed., 2:00 - 5:00
This studio course explores the principles of two-dimensional design and develops skills in a variety of
media and techniques. The final project - the complete design and illustration of a handmade
storybook - is approached through weekly exercises in aspects of page design and illustration, including
composition, typography, drawing in pencil and in ink, painting in water colours and in acrylics, simple
printmaking, and collage.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- MA or PhD in Art or related field
- Post-secondary teaching experience as either a primary instructor or teaching assistant
