Waste & Recycling Auditor

AET is looking for **Waste & Recycling Auditors** to join our team on a contract basis on projects across southern Manitoba. We will be conducting several waste audits over a 6-week period in Winnipeg, Brandon, Winkler, and Morden during the months of September and October.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Conduct residential waste audits: participate in curbside collection and sample sorting by material type (i.e., organics, paper, plastic, glass, metal, etc.)
- Conduct audits of material recovery facilities (MRFs): participate in recycling collection, and sample sorting to characterize and determine recycling composition by material type (i.e., plastic, paper, aluminum, contamination etc.)
- Responsible for carrying out work accordance to project specifications and prescribed methodology
- Work safely by following all health & safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to work well in a team setting
- Ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Professional demeanor
- Possess initiative, adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to learn
- Previous experience or education in an environmental or related field is an asset
- Interest in Waste Management and Recycling (asset)

**Typical Activities/Physical Abilities**:

- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk
- Able to lift 20 kg
- Regularly required to work outside in varying weather conditions
- PPE Requirements:

- AET will provide the following PPE: Half-mask respirator/mask, Safety glasses, Gloves, Hard Hat, Coveralls, Reflective vest
- The employee is responsible for providing their own Safety Footwear

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

- Monday to Friday
