**Break Press Operator, Colby Drive, Waterloo - DAYS**

**DAY - Monday - Friday 7:00am-3:00pm**

**Job Summary**:
The brake press operator controls large machines used to bend and shape metal sheets for production. He or she studies blueprints, takes careful measurements, and feeds raw material into programmed brake presses to produce custom sheets and metal parts.

**Responsibilities Include**:
Safely operate Brake Press to produce quality parts.

Complete and document required quality checks and inspections.

Using basic knowledge of precision measuring instruments, measure machined parts by comparing them to First Offs.

Read and interpret engineering drawings to ensure correct information is used to make parts.

Clean and upkeep machines and surrounding work area.

Ensure continuity between shifts through clear and complete documentation of actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Follow quality management system policy and procedures as per ISO 9001:2015.

Maintain work area clean and organized, and follow health & safety rules.

Any other related tasks as assigned.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 2 years experience as a Brake Press Operator.
- Basic knowledge of the use of precision measuring tools.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Working knowledge of OHSA and WHMIS.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively and efficiently.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and execute results to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Ability to deal with conflict, stress, and time constraints in an efficient, professional, courteous manner.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

**Physical Demands**:
Required to carry out routine, repetitive tasks such as reaching, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, lifting, packing, stacking, bending, climbing/descending/going under or on equipment as well as some physical lifting.

Regularly exposed to noise, temperature change and lubricants and vibration.

Wears all PPE as required.
