**Position Overview**
We are looking for a **skilled and self-sufficient Field Crew Leader** to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role for an experienced heavy equipment operator who can work independently, manage a helper, and maintain quality and safety standards on site.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate heavy equipment for open trench excavation and telecom utility installation
- Lead and coordinate daily activities with a small crew (typically one helper)
- Ensure quality workmanship and compliance with safety procedures
- Perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
- Document work progress and communicate with supervisors as needed
- Travel occasionally to project sites in the **Vancouver Lower Mainland**
- Strong operator with experience in trenching and underground utility work
- Reliable and capable of working **independently** with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrates leadership and clear communication skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Willing to travel as needed
**Qualifications**
- **3-5 years** experience operating heavy equipment in a utility or construction setting
- Proven ability to manage small crews and job sites
- Valid **Class 1 Driver’s License** (required)
- **Class 3 License** (required)
- Familiarity with telecom infrastructure installation is a **must**
- Concrete experience is an asset
