**Responsibilities**:
Montship Inc. a subsidiary of Trealmont Transport Inc. has an opening for an Accounting Technician - Accounts Payable in Montreal, Quebec. The Company was originally founded in 1925 and has now grown within the Trealmont Transport Inc. with its various affiliates (which includes Montship Inc.) within the shipping industry and is one of the oldest and most respected shipping agents in Canada.

The Accounting Technician - Accounts Payable will be working under the supervision of the Senior Corporate Accountant to aid in maintaining accurate financial records.

**Responsibilities**:

- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable
- Bank reconciliations
- Reconcile and balancing of GL accounts
- Preparation of year-end file
- Maintain the petty cash fund
- Month End & Year-end close process
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Monthly asset depreciation
- Process Electronic Data Import (EDI) - Sales and Purchases
- Employee expense report processing
- Balance sheet reconciliation
- Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

- AEC or BAC in Accounting, Business Admin, or similar field;
- Min. 2 years experience in Accounts Payable for a Canadian company;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong Excel/VLOOKUP skills;
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills;
- Respectful of deadlines, values integrity;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills while keeping our clients in mind;
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently;
- Strong English language skills (written and spoken) with functional French.
