**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the shipping and receiving processes within our warehouse. You will ensure that all incoming and outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall effectiveness of our warehouse operations.

**Responsibilities**
- work closely with carrier representatives to obtain freight quotes for outbound and inbound goods
- pick, pack and prepare and stage goods for shipping
- unload, inspect and receive all incoming shipments - taking photos of damage where noted
- coordinate delivery of incoming and outgoing goods with vendors and freight forwarders to achieve on time/as scheduled and cost effective deliveries
- communicate with team members on ETA’s, delays, etc
- prepare all shipping & receiving documentation including Bills of Lading, Customs Forms, Receiving Slips and Return Slips
- responsible for inspection and verification of all incoming goods to purchase orders including recording shortages and rejecting damaged goods
- responsible for warehousing all incoming goods and organization of warehouse space including ensuring items are properly tagged or labelled
- physical monitoring of stock levels when picking and putting away goods
- conduct weekly inventory counts of breading supplies and equipment
- conduct ad-hoc inventory verification as requested by the Purchaser
- identify and implement shipping cost control processes and optimization of logistics
- attend weekly team meetings to update and communicate shipping/receiving activities
- maintain stock of shipping supplies
- maintain clean, safe and effective warehousing operations
- perform general duties and assist production team as required

**Skills**
- Proficient in order picking and fulfillment processes within a warehouse environment.
- Strong understanding of basic math skills for accurate inventory management.
- Familiarity with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems is a plus.
- Experience in shipping and receiving operations, including packaging standards.
- Knowledge of warehouse distribution practices and procedures.
- Ability to effectively operate reach trucks and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Competent in utilizing a Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory and shipments.
