**Position Overview**:
The Data Specialist will be responsible for engineering (designing and developing) and maintaining data integration and transformation solutions, as well as providing support for the day-to-day data needs of the business. These solutions will enable the flow and transformation of data from multiple sources to a modern, centralized, cloud-based, enterprise data environment. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the successful implementation of these solutions by leveraging appropriate data engineering tools, technologies and techniques, including ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, data modeling, data warehousing, and cloud-based data storage solutions. They will also ensure appropriate data governance and data management practices are effectively employed throughout their work. The Data Specialist will work with various stakeholders, including business users, analytics team members, and other data analysts, to understand their data needs and provide solutions that meet their requirements, ensuring they support the performance and transformational objectives of connectFirst Credit Union.

As one of connectFirst’s Data Specialists, you will be:

- Demonstrating your **growth mindset** with a strong **learning** focus while working with a mentor.
- **Monitoring** data analytics operational processing jobs and ensure **quality**.
- Working with your mentor to **build** data pipelines, queries and reports.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Design and develop of data integration and transformation solutions and pipelines that enable the flow of data from multiple sources to a centralized, cloud-based, enterprise data environment.
- Collaborate with business users, analytics team members, data analysts, and architects to understand their data integration and transformation requirements, developing data pipelines and solutions that meet their needs.
- Ensure that developed data and pipeline solutions are modern, efficient, scalable, robust, and are built to the strategic data and analytics team’s standards.
- Contribute and adhere to the development and maintenance of processes and policies to ensure the quality and integrity of the data being integrated into the data environment, while ensuring compliance is maintained with industry regulations and connectFirst’s standards.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with affected stakeholders team to implement solutions to improve data integration and transformation efficiency, quality, and accuracy.
- Ensure that developed data solutions are appropriately scalable, can handle large volumes of data (i.e. big data), while ensuring performance are maintained per the data and analytics team standards.
- Design and develop machine learning pipelines to support advanced analytics and data science models, ensuring that developed solutions are optimized for these use cases and can support identified requirements.
