Under the supervision of the Human Resources Director, establish standards and procedures in health, safety and prevention at Action Scaffold Mississauga, Laval and Quebec City branches. Act as an expert and be responsible for the day-to-day management and development of training activities relating to prevention and occupational health and safety, primarily in support of management, supervisors and employees.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- Education: Bachelor's degree including certification in health, safety, occupational hygiene or equivalent
- Safety officer certification in accordance with the safety code for construction work & Occupational health and safety certificate, an asset
- Experience: 5 years in prevention and promotion of occupational health and safety, in the construction and industrial sectors
- Autonomous, rigorous and efficient
- Oral and written bilingualism
- Ability to communicate and lead training sessions, both orally and in writing
- Working knowledge of applicable OHS laws, standards and regulations
- Knowledge of SuiteOffice
- Knowledge of Cognibox system
- Open-mindedness
- Strong analytical skills and ability to think strategically and find original solutions
- Proven development and coaching skills to achieve targeted results
- Demonstrate positive leadership
- Customer service skills, ability to manage priorities, ability to work under pressure and ability to intervene

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Ensure that the company complies with all health and safety laws, regulations and standards;
- Promote and ensure the free flow of information regarding the company's culture of promoting and integrating management of occupational health and safety, as well as the safety aspect of products and services offered;
- Contact person for external customers on regulations and safety equipment, in the showroom or over the phone. May be called upon to sell them the products offered;
- Recommend and ensure the updating and implementation of internal standards, policies, programs, procedures and prevention processes for the integration of good occupational health and safety practices;
- Enhance managers technical skills to enable them to take adequate responsibility for occupational health and safety;
- Develop tools for analyzing potential risks and best practices in occupational health and safety;
- Participate in the development and implementation of occupational health and safety performance indicators;
- Conduct risk assessments and analyze work-related hazards in the yard, on construction sites and in the plant, and implement specific prevention programs;
- Participate in site analysis meetings organized by the client to keep abreast of site conditions. Communicate important information about the job site to the sales or delivery team, in order to prevent, reduce and eliminate the risk of work-related accidents;
- Investigate accidents or major problems and recommend reports and corrective and preventive measures;
- In the context of temporary assignment, rehabilitation and return to work, manage and evaluate job suitability based on worker capabilities;
- Increase managers' and employees' awareness of health and safety issues. Make any recommendations or directives to the managers and employees concerned;
- Prepare, plan, organize and disseminate training and accident and occupational injury prevention activities in the workplace and on job sites (working at heights, confined/enclosed spaces, lockout/tagout, accident investigation, use of equipment, WHMIS, etc.);
- Administer pre-employment medical questionnaires and make appropriate recommendations;
- Responsible for emergency response plan, first aid team and replenishment of first aid kits. May be called upon to provide first aid;
- Coordinates, structures and, on occasion, facilitates Health & Safety Committee meetings and activities;
- Responsible for WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) compliance and management. Ensure the updating and distribution of labels and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS);
- At the request of procurement, may be called upon to assess the risks of new products and make appropriate recommendations;
- Participate in the orientation and training of new employees;
- Any other related duties as determined by supervisor.
