Reporting to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, the Financial Planning Analyst will be a key support in forecasting and planning Knix’s financial performance leveraging detailed financial and operational metrics to identify trends and opportunities. The Financial Planning Analyst will need to be highly organized, detail oriented and with a strong business acumen to build up the forecast and annual plans quickly and efficiently, while being able to step back and understand how all the parts inter-connect. You always make sure you have back-up documentation in everything you do - You love finance and want to develop your skills by obtaining exposure to a high-growth company - You love learning, and are driven to constantly improve yourself and your deliverables The Opportunity - Update and maintain Knix’s 18-month detailed P&L forecast for online and brick & mortar locations. This includes timely updates of actual results, variance analysis (Sales, Margin, OPEX etc.) and updating revised team forecasts - Updating and maintain an 18-month Balance Sheet and Cashflow forecast. Working with various teams including Operations on the open to buy & inventory forecasts, Accounting for A/P & loans to ensure a realistic view of future performance - Provide monthly gross/contribution margin analyses for all online and physical Knix locations including actuals and forecasted performance, sensitivity analyses, variances to plan/forecast - Updating monthly forecast decks covering Sales/Margin/Ad Spend/EBITDA for executive meetings. This includes working with the Director of FP&A/Sr Financial Analyst to build out additional informative analysis to aid in breaking down actual/forecasted results - Key part of the annual budget process, helping construct and consolidate team budgets, detailed builds of Sales/COGS by product, 2 3PL’s builds and roll-ups, with Vs Last Year & Strategic plans comparisons and analysis - Support the monthly forecasting process through updating and maintaining weekly Sales/COGS/Inventory performance for all key product lines and locations with trend analysis, vs budget and LY comparisons - Updating other regular reports to track performance and support analyzing trends to identify opportunities and threats to the organization - Ad hoc analysis requests as needed Additional duties and responsibilities may be added along with the above - there’s lots of opportunity to grow and develop in the role **Qualifications**: - CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation - 1-3yrs experience in an Analyst level role, preferably in a medium to large sized high growth CPG or direct-to-consumer environment - Experience working with accounting software > NetSuite would be an asset - Ability to “see the forest for the trees” when compiling/analyzing data you’ll be deep into the details, we need you to be able to stand back and understand what the data is telling us - Strong Excel skills - as a majority of our analysis is done in Excel - Excellent communication skills and organizational skills - Energy, enthusiasm, and the willingness to learn and have fun We are a fun team and enjoy our work and time together at work **How we Hire** **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year Additional pay: - Bonus pay **Benefits**: - Dental care - Extended health care - Paid time off - RRSP match - Vision care Schedule: - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Monday to Friday Ability to commute/relocate: - Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred) **Education**: - Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
