**Role Summary**:
Reporting to the VP, the Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing a range of operational responsibilities including daily business operations, ensuring team accountability, providing financial oversight and nurturing client relationships. The primary responsibility of this role is operational execution: to manage workflows, resources and timelines across departments, ensuring speed, quality and compliance; all in an effort to maintain high levels of client satisfaction and profitability.

This position is key to building a high functioning, connected organization.

**This individual will also focus on the ongoing goals of**:

- Super-pleasing to further enhance the BKC legendary client /builder care and industry reputation for being helpful, easy to work with and engaged in the homebuilding industry
- Continuous improvement of energy advisory, modelling and in-field inspection for quality and productivity
- Making the complex world of high-performance homes, simple, clear and applicable for builders and industry stakeholders
- Building on and ensuring the continuity of an environment of collaboration, engagement, learning, kindness, positivity and respect

**Role Responsibilities**:
**Leadership**: The Operations Manager plays a central role in aligning people, processes, and performance across the organization. Responsible for leading and developing a team of 25+, this role ensures smooth coordination between departments and supports individual and collective growth through targeted training. With a strong understanding of workflow processes, the Manager fosters collaboration, clarity, and continuous improvement.

**Business Operations**: Provides strategic oversight and leadership of daily operations for the Integrated Design Services and Field Technical Services teams, ensuring effective delivery of builder and corporate client projects. Maintains rigorous quality assurance across Energy Advisor Services and home performance programs, including compliance with EnerGuide, NBC 2020+, and OBC SB12 standards. Oversees file submissions and continuous education to ensure team competency, while actively participating in industry program development. Promotes collaboration between departments, works closely with the Systems Development team on technology solutions, and partners with leadership to refine processes, improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance client satisfaction. Ensures all operations meet relevant regulatory requirements.

**Client Relationship Management**: Builds and maintains strong, long-term relationships with clients, consultants, and industry stakeholders to support ongoing collaboration and identify future project opportunities. Serves as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and working with POD leaders to deliver customized solutions that align with their goals. Actively engages with industry stakeholders in the development of building codes, regulations, standards, and programs.

**Cross-Functional Collaboration and Leadership**:Leads and fosters cross-functional collaboration by ensuring strong partnerships between all functional areas, enabling a smooth transition from project planning to execution. Provides ongoing guidance and support to teams, promoting alignment, efficiency, and shared accountability across the organization.

**Team Development**: Leads, mentors, and scales a high-performing team focused on collaboration, excellence, and service. Actively monitors and optimizes team performance and resource allocation to ensure operational efficiency. Provides technical expertise and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

**Strategic Leadership**:Establishes clear goals and growth strategies to strengthen the capabilities of the technical services teams (FTS and IDS), enabling them to deliver faster, stronger, and more effective service to clients. Collaborates closely with the BKC leadership team to provide support, troubleshoot challenges, recommend improvements, and contribute to strategic planning efforts.

**Education, Experience and Skill Requirements**:
**Education**:
1. Post-secondary degree, technical college in Engineering, Masters in Science or Building Science related post-secondary education

**Beneficial Education**:

- Professional Engineer or Registered Architect
- MBA
- CET/AET designation

**Preferred Credentials**: (OR complete within first 6-12 months of tenure)
