As a Senior Collections Officer at Current Financial, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire collections process for commercial and equipment assets. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of collections procedures, the Personal Property Security Act (PPSA), the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act Enforcement Act (BIA), seizure protocols and notices, and enforcement procedures across Canada (excluding Quebec). You will collaborate with legal counsel, trigger enforcement steps and lawsuits when necessary, and work closely with bailiffs to coordinate asset seizures. Your role will also involve managing asset disposals and developing exit strategies to maximize sale proceeds. Additionally, you will be responsible for advertising repossessed units to potential interested parties and ensuring a comprehensive understanding of commercial and equipment assets.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Collections Expertise**: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of collections procedures, including the PPSA and BIA, and stay up-to-date with industry regulations.
- **Communication**:Demonstrate strong written and oral skills and promptly notify clients of delinquency event and frequently follow-up for payments or commitments.
- **Legal Liaison**: Collaborate with legal counsel to initiate enforcement steps and legal actions, as required.
- **Asset Seizures**: Work closely with bailiffs to coordinate the seizure of assets in accordance with the law.
- **Asset Disposal**: Manage asset disposals and develop exit strategies to optimize sale proceeds.
- **Advertisement**:Send out advertisements for repossessed units to potential interested parties and manage inquiries.
- **Equipment Knowledge**: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of various equipment assets and their market value.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum of two (2) year of experience in collections within the financial industry, with a focus on equipment and commercial assets.
- In-depth knowledge of the Canadian Personal Property Security Act (PPSA) and Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act Enforcement Act (BIA).
- Proven experience in coordinating asset seizures and managing legal proceedings.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of equipment types and their valuation is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

Pay: $40,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
