The IT Support Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of computer hardware and related equipment, ensuring systems function optimally and providing technical support to users.

**Responsibilities**:

- Diagnosing and resolving hardware issues, including replacing faulty components.
- Installing new hardware, maintaining existing systems, and ensuring hardware is up to date.
- Providing technical assistance to users, answering questions, and guiding them through hardware-related problems.
- Maintaining records of hardware configurations, repairs, and solutions.
- Assisting with network-related issues, including troubleshooting and configuration.
- Supporting peripheral devices like printers, scanners, and other hardware.
- Communicating effectively with users and other IT staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Some travel within Canada may be required.

**Education/Skills/Experience**:

- Post-secondary education in a Computer Science or Information Technology or a related field or relevant experience in a similar role
- 1-2 years of experience in IT Support / Helpdesk role (we will also consider IT graduates with no experience)
- Strong understanding of computer hardware, networking, and operating systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Ability to identify problems, research solutions, and implement them effectively.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with users and other IT staff.
- Ability to provide helpful and efficient support to users.
- Practical experience with installing, repairing, and maintaining computer hardware.
