The Human Resources Generalist provides back-end support to the Human Resources Business Partners for all people management related activities (i.e., promotions, terminations, new hires) and liaises with the Shared Services team to ensure accurate and efficient processing of employee changes. The HR Generalist provides support to employees and managers through an understanding of all human resources policies, procedures and processes. This is a developmental role with opportunity to move towards a Human Resources Business Partner.

**Responsibilities**- Effectively leverages all HR frameworks, processes and policies to support people management activities as directed by the human resources business partners- Monitors and reviews legislation and updates human resources policies and procedures as required- Interfaces with shared services on employee changes, ensuring correct processes are followed- Responds in a timely fashion to business inquiries and employee and manager questions as triaged by Shared Services.- Supports employee onboarding processes- Supports training and talent programs through coordination of materials and organization of events- Creates and updates tools, templates, letters, and forms to ensure accuracy and effectiveness- Analyze data, conduct research and develop reports using multiple systems and sources- Support employee-related matters ie. promotions, transfers, salary adjustments, preparation of termination and severance letters- Support the performance management cycle
- Maintain compliance with and in-depth knowledge of local labor and employment regulations

**Skills / Knowledge / Education**- Knowledge and expertise in HR policies and procedures- Understanding of best practices and current regulations specific to HR- Strong attention to detail- Excellent problem-solving skills- Excellent coordination and communication skills- Excellent research and analytical skills- Proficiency in software and systems including Google and HR systems- Strong desire to learn and develop new skills- Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce- 1-2 years of work experience in a professional setting, financial services experience is an asset- Some knowledge of multiple human resources disciplines an asset
