**Operations Lead Hand** **Weekday Shift - Monday to Thursday, Rotating 10-hour days.** Career Opportunity **Responsibilities**: - Under the direction of the Production Supervisor (and in their absence), lead the daily activities of operations staff; providing coaching and training as required. - Assist in the resolution of material defects and equipment problems. - Monitor job progress and provide regular progress reporting to management. - Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. - Ensure the efficient use of labor, machines and materials used by operations staff. - Take an active role in monitoring performance, providing feedback, and suggesting corrective action. - Ensure compliance with Kalesnikoff health and safety training and reporting requirements. - Clean and perform preparation of worksite. - Operate production equipment as needed. - Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and tools. - Measure, mark, and record specific data points during the production process. - Aid other operators across the production floor. - Read and interpret plans, instructions, blueprints, and specifications to determine work activities. - Complete data entry for daily shift and downtime reporting. - Perform other duties as assigned **Requirements**: - Post secondary education in a related field is preferred. - Previous experience in mass timber or wood manufacturing is considered an asset. - Applicable licenses to operate forklifts and other related machinery. - Ability to read production plans and blueprints. - A solid understanding of production equipment and processes - Strong leadership, communication, and delegation skills - Effectiveness in the areas of safety and productivity - Strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills - Ability to work independently in a busy environment. - High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning - Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures. - Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment. - Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. - Able to work well under pressure. - Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times. - First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets. **Terms of employment**: 40 hours/week, afternoon premium applies when working afternoons only. **How to apply**: Please address your cover letters and your resumes to ">.
