**What the role is all about**:
As an Ice Technician, you will be part of an elite team that operates and maintains the Markin MacPhail Centers four high performance ice surfaces and all arena infrastructure. This position predominantly operates the ice resurfacers to ensure high-performance ice standards.

**Responsibilities**
- Interact with customers and assist on a daily basis
- Daily ice maintenance (resurface, scrap, edge) and arena infrastructure (dressing rooms, hallways, floors)
- Icehouse maintenance, including ice maintenance on bobsleigh track and luge track.
- Heavy cleaning role involving checking and/or cleaning dressing rooms between all rentals.
- Weekly cleaning involving arena glass, showers, and deep cleaning players benches and rooms.
- Routine facility maintenance (changing lights, painting, repairs, etc.)
- Assist ice installations, arena conversions, and major arena and Icehouse maintenance projects.
- Provide direction and mentorship to assisting rink attendants
- Demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers, direct reports and WinSport guests
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Arena Operator Level 1 is an asset or 1-year minimum related experience
- Arena concert/event setup experience considered an asset
- Forklift and aerial work platform experience considered an asset
- Olympia LVR laser leveling system experience considered an asset

**Physical Demands**
- Work environment is cold, wet, and will include extensive walking and/or standing.
- Heavy lifting at times required.
- Occasional working at heights required.
- Occasional overnight work required
