**Job description**

Continuing demand and upcoming projects have resulted in opening positions as **Materials Testing Technicians.** While working as part of a team, the role will be based out of our **Medicine Hat and Calgary offices**, where you will gain hands-on experience and contribute to various projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- assist in lab and field testing for geotechnical investigations.
- maintain calibrations for lab and field equipment.
- provide quality assurance testing on soils, concrete and asphalt on multiple local and regional projects.
- provide inspections for pile installations, road construction and various other construction activities.
- coordinate and supervise field investigations, direct drilling activities and large excavations and survey tasks.
- use geotechnical design, analysis and computer modeling programs.
- train and mentor junior staff as required
- help develop and maintain valuable relationships with client base

**Qualifications**
- strong, clear, professional written and oral communications
- ability to multi-task
- work well with others.
- willingness to work overtime as necessary.
- must possess a valid driver’s license and provide copy of current driving record
- ability and willingness to work out town.
- ability to manage clients and staff with capable people skills.
- previous materials testing experience is considered an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Contract length: 6-12 months

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Maintain a valid Alberta Class 5 license* or equivalent (required)

Willingness to travel:

- 50% (required)

Work Location: In person

Expected start date: 2025-04-15
