As our Inventory & Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our inventory processes, ensuring accurate stock levels, and establishing robust tracking mechanisms from supplier to our location. Your expertise in forecasting, inventory execution, analysis, and control will be essential in maintaining operational efficiency and minimizing waste, all while effectively navigating daily fluctuations in demand and supply. You will also contribute to the procurement process through purchase order execution and help to streamline reporting and communication.
**Responsibilities**:
- Inventory Forecasting and Planning: Develop and implement inventory forecasting models based on historical data, sales trends, and anticipated demand to optimize stock levels and prevent shortages or overstock situations.- Inventory Analysis and Reporting: Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement. Generate insightful reports on key inventory metrics, such as turnover rate, carrying costs, and stockout frequency.- MRP System Management: Utilize and maintain our Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system to ensure accurate inventory records, manage material flow, and generate production planning insights.- Inventory Traceability Setup: Design and implement comprehensive inventory tracking processes to guarantee clear visibility of all inventory items from the point of origin (supplier) through to our location, ensuring accountability and facilitating efficient recall procedures if necessary.- Process Development and Implementation: Establish and document clear inventory management processes and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.- Purchase Order Execution: Assist with the procurement process by executing purchase orders for materials and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to agreed-upon terms.- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, sales, and purchasing, to ensure alignment on inventory goals and proactively address any inventory-related issues.
**Qualifications**:
- 4-6 years proven experience as an Inventory and/or Procurement Specialist or in a similar role with a strong focus on forecasting, inventory execution, analysis, and control.- Hands-on experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.- Demonstrated ability to design and implement inventory tracking processes for end-to-end traceability.- Solid understanding of inventory management principles and best practices.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.- Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, Docs, Slides) is a plus- Experience with purchase order execution is highly desirable.- Exceptional organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment.- Ability to effectively handle daily changes in priorities and adapt quickly to new situations.- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.- Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English). The person must be able to communicate in English (written and oral) since we have employees outside Quebec.
