Symphony Senior Living's is a family company operating four locations in Ottawa, Canada. We provide private pay services to residents in our beautiful communities, from independent living, through to end of life. We are the true alternative to a Long-Term Care facility - to that end we are NOT a medical institution we are the HOME to many seniors of many levels of ability.

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated leader to join our team as Life Enrichment Coordinator. Our communities serve seniors needing assisted living and memory care support.

**Overview**

**Responsibilities**
- Design, implement, and evaluate life enrichment programs tailored to the needs and interests of residents.
- Facilitate group activities that encourage social interaction and cognitive engagement.
- Collaborate with caregiving staff to ensure that all activities are safe and appropriate for residents' varying abilities.
- Communicate regularly with residents, families, and staff to gather feedback on programs and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide training and support to staff on best practices for engaging residents in meaningful activities.
- Maintain accurate records of participation in programs and assess the effectiveness of enrichment initiatives.
- Foster a positive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and independence among all residents.

**Experience**
- Previous experience in dementia care or working within assisted living or nursing home environments is highly desirable.
- Strong background in caregiving or related fields with a focus on senior care is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and team members.
- Ability to create a warm, inviting atmosphere that encourages resident participation in activities.
- A degree or certification in gerontology, recreational therapy, or a related field is a plus but not required.

**Requirements**:

- Organizational skills and ability to coordinate activities across disciplines (including Wellness, Sales, Dining, etc.)
- Basic knowledge and understanding of Alzheimer’s Disease and related dementias and a desire to serve residents and families
- Ability to work within an environment that supports the goals and embraces the practices set forth in the Community
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Excel and Word.
- Strong communication skills in English, verbal and written.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.

- You must be able to work with dogs, cats and other animals
- Due to our high level of residents with dementia; your tattoos and piercings must either remained covered by clothing or are discrete. Any other external body decoration, including hair, must not be frightening to a frail senior with dementia.
- You must be legally allowed to work in Canada
- You must be in good physical health as this job requires lifting, sitting, standing and walking.
- Must have a valid Ontario drivers license.
- Must have or willing to obtain an F class Ontario drivers license.
- Must have availability to work weekends rotations

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
