Vice-president, IT Infrastructure and Operations

**Job Summary**:
TC Transcontinental is looking for a Vice-President, IT Infrastructure and Operations who will report to the CIO. The Vice-President plays a leading role in the support as well as standardization and modernization of our IT environment. A strong understanding of security challenges coupled with experience in IT infrastructure operations are essential requirements for this leading position.
**Responsibilities**Strategic leadership and business alignment**:
- Provides leadership and supervision to the corporate infrastructure services delivery teams, IT service desk team and regional IT operations teams (US, LATAM).
- Works with upper management to establish standards and best practices to ensure the delivery of a stable, secure and resilient infrastructure.
- In collaboration with upper management, translates IT strategic and tactical goals into an actionable roadmap.
**Infrastructure & Operations Management**:
- Oversee all aspects of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, data centers, and cloud services.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of infrastructure components.
- Monitors, evaluates and improves the efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure and operations services delivery methods and procedures.
- Measure the quality and performance of the teams' services while providing direction, coaching, and enabling a culture of excellent customer service, high-performance and trust.
- Collaborates with security team leads to ensure compliance with security program requirements and swift mitigation of cyber risks.
- Oversee incident and change management processes with direct involvement in major incidents or problems that cause service impact with timely reporting to upper management.
- Plan and lead the infrastructure life cycle management in accordance with standards and best practices.
- Oversee the planning and execution of DR tests and ensures continuous improvement of our DR capabilities.
- Implement and manage an efficient IT Service Desk function with timely resolution of user inquiries, incidents, and service requests.
- Improve Service Desk maturity by aligning processes with ITSMF principles, including incident management, problem resolution, and change management.
**Projects delivery, Budget control and Reporting and Vendor Management**:
- Oversee the successful delivery of infrastructure and security projects.
- Control the allocated IT budget and report on expenditure.
- Participate in budget preparation and demand management related to all IT requests.
- Assist in building vendor relationships and negotiating cost-efficient contracts.
- Evaluate vendor performance and recommend improvements.
**Team Leadership**:
- Responsible for ensuring the staff are meeting and exceeding expectations regarding performance, meeting defined metrics/benchmarks, and that standards and processes are followed consistently to provide effective customer service and meet upper management requirements.
- Responsible for guiding and coaching staff through career development opportunities, developing training plans for team members and skills development to maintain core competencies.
**Requirements and Skills**
- At least 10 years of experience as a senior IT Director or in a similar role with a proven ability to manage regionally diverse and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service with the desire to build relationships with business partners while also recruiting, coaching, training, managing and mentoring employees.
- Previous experience in guiding, selecting, and directing technological choices at the server, network, computer systems and operations levels in an operational and industrial environment.
- Proven ability to financially monitor recommendations, decisions and technological directions.
- Good communication skills.
- Bilingualism (French and English), both orally and in writing, is required because of our globally located workforce and daily interface with leaders in countries that TC Transcontinental operates in (knowledge of Spanish would be an asset).
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, or a relevant field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, PMP, CISA, etc.) are a plus.
