**About the Opportunity**:
**Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Participate in program planning, development, and evaluation of Youth Services
- Connect with other KidsAbility service areas and community-based groups/services to provide youth perspective
- Assist with the creation of a recruitment strategy for Youth Services and Therapeutic Recreation programs and initiatives
- Work with Team to support children and youth accessing KidsAbility services
- Initiate and facilitate conversations with clients which may include sharing personal experiences
- Work independently and as part of the Team
- Collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplinary environment providing client-centered care
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues
- Participate in professional and organizational initiatives supporting quality management and research
**More About You**:
- Experience working with children and youth is an asset, including experience with children and youth who have a variety of physical, developmental, and communication disorders
- Fun and creative
- Strong organizational and time management skills and creative problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral; including the ability to communicate well in groups and individually
- Respectful of client’s rights to confidentiality
- Computer proficiency including Word, Excel, Outlook, internet, and familiarity with social networking tools
- Travel to Guelph and Waterloo, with outreach to other sites as required. You must have a valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle with public liability/property damage coverage
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program, and therefore applicants must meet the following requirements:
- You must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- You must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment; and
- You must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

Schedule:
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Weekends as needed
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Waterloo, ON (N2L): reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
