**JOB INFO**

As the Powerline Technician, you are expected to be engaged in our safety program, executing work in a safe manner, in adherence with CANA policies and all applicable code regulations and the Act.
- This position entails physically demanding motions and tasks.
- The work requires commuting to different sites in and around the Calgary area.
- With projects across Western Canada, travel and shift work may be required.
- CANA Energy operates year-round and outdoors in all types of terrain and environments.
- The work is in electrical construction, maintenance, repair and testing of energized and de-energized distribution and transmission systems.
- May be on underground or overhead facilities.

**YOU WILL**
- Install, maintain and repair of both overhead and underground electrical distribution and transmission systems. This will include wood and steel structures, insulators, conductors lightning arrestors, switches, transformers and other associated equipment.
- Installation and use of protective grounds, switchgear and switching procedures, aerial and hydraulic equipment, climbing of poles, testing methods, automation components and working from heights and/or in manholes and vaults.
- Wire installation including stringing, splicing, terminating, re-conductoring and related wiring to connect power distribution and transmission networks.

***YOU WILL NEED**
- Valid Journeyman Power Lineman Certificate and/or Interprovincial Red Seal.
Knowledge of the construction and maintenance of overhead and underground cable installations.
- Reliable transportation to commute to various job sites
- A successful Pre-Employment Assessment that includes screening for Drug & Alcohol and the ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly

**NICE TO HAVE**
- Experience in rubber glove live work
- Equipment and RBD operating experience
- Class 3 or 1 license
