As the Journeyperson Electrician Technician, you will be responsible for the service, repair, installation and operation of all electrical equipment, controls, and components within the Facilities portfolio. Primary duties include:Receive and respond to work orders issued directly from the supervisor. Work orders can be for preventative maintenance, demand repairs, contractor support, or troubleshooting for multiple types of equipment. The equipment for work to be performed on may include, but is not limited to, fire alarm systems, generators, power distribution, control systems, lighting, commercial tenant power, and parking lot power. Meet with Enmax or other service providers' representatives to help with service shutdowns or prescheduled projects and upgrades.Respond to fire alarms or fire troubles, as well as help with regular scheduled testing and maintenance of fire system components.Perform preventive maintenance on emergency equipment such as generators, emergency light battery packs, and emergency power systems.Collaborate with project leads, Electrical Planners, and Property Management on ongoing projects to ensure completion of work.Prepare copies of corporate credit card invoices and reports. Qualifications A completed Journeyperson Electrical certification with Inter-Provincial certificate seal, combined with at least 4 years of directly related commercial experience at the Journeyperson level. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of all building system controls (both electric and pneumatic), heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and Fire Alarm systems is required.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building plans, particularly relating to HVAC and electrical, and to troubleshoot and resolve various building system problems is required.Applicants must also have Fire Alarm certification if not included with red seal training.A valid Class 5 Driver's Licence (or provincial equivalent), with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending OR; a valid Graduated Driver's Licence (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending.Success in this position requires excellent mechanical aptitude supported by sound technical training.Strong communication skills are essential for this position.Working Conditions:This position is required to work in confined spaces and is exposed to noise, electrical equipment and high voltage.
