We are currently looking for Journeyperson Powerline Technician’s in various regions of Ontario. **Summary** The Journeyperson Powerline Technician fosters an environment of construction execution excellence. The Journeyperson Powerline Technician will complete activities safely and efficiently all while upholding a strong dedication to quality. **Qualifications** - Powerline Technician Certification. - Red Seal Certificate is considered an asset. - Safety tickets an asset (i.e. First Aid, Working at Heights, and Confined Space). **Skills** - Experience installing, commissioning, and modifying high voltage underground and overhead distribution facilities, including live line work. - Thorough understanding of laws, codes and regulations related to the PLT trade. - Must be able to travel and work evenings or weekends from time to time. - Must be proficient in fundamentals of UWPC. - Ability to lift >50lbs. **Duties** - Construction of overhead and underground power lines, and related utility equipment. - Assist in the supervision of contracted labour (construction crews, hydrovac etc). - Cable Installation and Terminations. - Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specification. - Install, alter, repair, and maintain various electrical systems and related equipment. - Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and to ensure compliance with code. - Maintain a clean and safe work area. - Comply with standards and procedures of the Iconic Power Systems Health & Safety Manual and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations. - Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment. - Provide leadership and guidance to fellow employees and apprentices. **Personal Characteristics** - Safety - We go home safely every night. - Integrity - Around here our word means something. - Quality - Our quality stands on its own. - Accountability - We provide solutions, not problems. - Teamwork - Great people working together. - You have a calm demeanor and thrive in high-stress situations.
