South Coast Hyundai in Norfolk County, Simcoe, is seeking a self-motivated, energetic individual. Our prospective **Automotive Detailer** enjoys the personal satisfaction of a job well done, making vehicles shiny and spotless both inside and out.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Uses various types of cleaning equipment and solutions
- Details vehicle according to specific instructions
- Shampoos carpets and upholstery
- Vacuums floors and seats
- Cleans and vacuums the trunk
- Cleans out ashtrays and cup holders
- Conditions vinyl and leather
- Reconditions the vehicle’s exterior
- Cleans all glass and mirrors on the vehicle, inside and out
- Waxes and buffs vehicles after washing
- Polishes the exterior chrome and all trim on the exterior of the vehicle using special chrome cleaners
- Applies chemicals to surfaces to protect against spots and stains
- Uses hoses and pumps for washing and rinsing vehicles
- Dries floor mats
- Cleans and polishes wheel rims and makes them sparkle
- Cleans the headlights, brake lights and taillights making them brighter
**Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Must have exceptional customer service skills
- Must be detail oriented
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Must be an active listener and exercise sound judgment
- Good critical thinking and problem solving skills are essential
- Must be a good time manage and multi-tasker
- The ability to follow complex instructions is a plus
- Should have ample knowledge of safety precautions
**Education and Experience** High School diploma or equivalent
**Work Environment**
- Time is spent detailing a combination of rental, new, and owned vehicles of various size and brands at South Coast Hyundai & Blue Star Ford Lincoln (as required)
- Must be able to work with detergents and chemicals
- Some time is spent working outside and in a service bay, in both hot and cold weather ** **There will also be some time spent driving the shuttle to transport customers locally.**
**Wage** $17 hourly
**Hours** 5 days per week (40 hrs. per week)
**This position requires a Driver's Licence in good standing.**
Required licence or certification:
- Class G Driver's Licence
**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour
