We are currently loking for an Operations Manager that is a passionate and organized professional who will be responsible for all aspects building maintenance and equipment maintenance. Through management of the maintenance and janitorial teams, quality procedures, and budget maintenance they ensure the efficient operation of building maintenance, and utility management. This is a hands-on management role actively involved in day-to-day operations as well as a key member of the facility management team.

**Education and Knowledge Requirements**
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma, College Graduation Diploma preferred
- Valid driver’s license
- 5 to 10 years of practical and applied building maintenance experience
- At least 3 years of team leadership experience and strong communication skills
- Strong understanding of construction disciplines and concepts (foundations, structural, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, fire safety, etc.)
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings & weekends)
- Demonstrated strong all-round mechanical & facility maintenance skills.
- Demonstrated intermediate computer skills

**Skill Requirements**
- Create work schedules and project plans for team including janitors, ice (only required for complexes with ice surfaces) and building maintenance staff.
- Through inspection and taking corrective actions where necessary ensure building maintenance is compliant with standards as outlined by:

- Manufacture specifications
- Canlan Sports Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
- Canlan Sports Operation Site Visit (OSV) standards and recommendations
- Governmental / Legislative standards
- Identify and act on opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and service enhancements.
- Respond and trouble shoot non routine issues (e.g., staffing, equipment failure, alarms etc.) during or outside of regular working hours.
- Monitor consumption monthly.
- Compare monthly invoices to utility tracking spreadsheet to check for discrepancies.
- Set temperature and schedule for HVAC based upon season and occupancy.
