Operations Manager, Warehouse

We are recruiting an Operations Manager for our Distribution Warehouse.

This is a key team member role, as lead you will be directly responsible for all activities within our 43,000 sqr foot distribution facility in Oshawa.

As an integral member of our business, you are responsible for the coordination of day-to-day activities of our warehouse operation which includes supervision of the team members, receiving, storage, distribution, systems administration, inventory control, sanitation, maintenance and customer service. You are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our distribution centre and the timely accurate movement of all products and materials. A strong knowledge of warehouse machinery such as turret trucks, forklifts, double jacks etc. is a plus. Experience using ERP, warehouse management software and familiar with modern picking technology is highly preferred.

Excellent administrative and analytical skills are a must, as you will be responsible for hiring and training of warehouse staff and the implementation of standardized work practices. Not only is this a people management role, but you must be willing to physically contribute in warehouse duties while encompassing the leadership position to help build a bright future for the Moda family.

Ideally you are familiar with home décor products and have an appreciation for our industry.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Lead and develop the warehouse team.

Direct the efficient and cost-effective operation of the distribution facility.

Lead the development and implementation of SOP and KPI’s for the distribution facility.

Responsible for budgeting, supplies, facility, and equipment operation.

Responsible for fully understanding all vendor agreements ensuring we comply with specific terms and conditions to avoid charge backs and penalties.

Provide a safe and secure environment for associates and assets.

Lead, coach, and issue corrective action to associates as required.

Manages and physically contributes to day-to-day activities of warehouse operations.

Responsible for inventory accuracy.

Responsible for maintenance of all related shipping and inventory data in our ERP systems.

Responsible for allocation of inventory to orders, producing shipping manifests / BOL for all orders.

Direct, manage and co-ordinate all logistics operations for national and international deliveries inbound and outbound and follow up on orders.

Responsible for the receipt of inventory into our ERP Software, create picking / shipment paperwork, labels etc.

Perform regular market reviews ensuring current stable of carriers for local and cross border shipping are competitive.

Constantly strives to reduce all operational and overhead costs by continually reviewing material and supply relationships.

Communicate with /collaborate with other operational leads in the business to achieve financial objectives, control expenditures analyze variances and initiate corrective actions as required to achieve business growth and profitability.

Work with USA business teams to continually improve and modernize workflows.

Prompt, courteous and respectful responses to customers and vendors, resolving any issues and always delivering the best service experience.

**Qualification**:
Previous experience running a distribution warehouse

Degree or certificate preferably in logistics or related field

Successful leadership and management skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that is continually changing

Management experience in all areas of warehouse and distribution

Detail oriented

Strong computer, organizational, analytical and communication skills

Negotiation skills

ERP Knowledge (Epicor is a plus)

Customer service skills

Advanced judgement, math and analytical problem-solving skills

Very strong organizational and time management skills

Knowledge of carrier networks, all transportation modes domestic and international
